Dez is the founder and owner of RIDEZ Equestrian Centre and Rescue

She has been working with horses since a young age has developed her foundation in Germany under some of the best instructors in the country and has turned her passion into a life style. 

After starting to get back into lessons at different riding schools , when she settled in Australia, she decided to establish her own Riding school.

Her experience showed that there is a need of a riding school who not only gives riders the skills to ride correctly and efficiently but also helps to establish a great understanding how the correct aids and position will help the rider to get the best out of their horse.

Dez worked in a riding school in Australia for a couple of years and observed that the instructors missed out to teach riders to work together with their horse and mostly concentrated on the look instead of the correct way of working/riding. Furthermore, the horsemanship aspect has been fully left out of Horse riding lessons, which is a very important part of building a great relationship with your workout partner (horse). As a child in Germany ,Dez always looked forward to getting her horses ready for riding and felt much more connected with her partner under saddle. She was taught that this foundation on the ground ,is the A-Z to become a great rider and to be able to work with a horse as a team. 

 Dez passion is to establish team work between horse and rider and to give the rider the best tools to develop a smooth and rewarding ride with their partner. She enjoys to teach the rider the understanding why the horse reacts in a certain way and what the rider can change to get a better result in their workouts. Dez creates an environment in her lessons that gives the rider the knowledge of how to overcome the "uh oh" moments and how to create the "Aha" moments. She has learned from a young age, that the horse is the best teacher and will tell you when you get it right and when you got it wrong. Her aim is to give the riders the understanding of the horse they are riding and develop an understanding how they can create that magic together., without the need of extra gear and force.

Dez passion is to establish a nice environment and place, for people ,young or old, to learn the magic of horses, to follow their passion and to learn to "talk" to their partners and how to understand horses answers.

Over the past few years, Dez has also started a small horse rescue and takes on several horses to bring back to their best , a lot of them are OTT horses. She always could not walk past an animal who needed help and just needed to try to help a few. This has developed into a few cases coming to Ridez and the first few have found their forever home after being nurtured back to health. Some of the Rescues Dez took in, are actually now school horses .

Before Dez fulfilled her Dream with her own Riding School and Rescue, she worked in Child care for several years. She completed her studies as a child care Teacher in Germany and also worked as a swim coach for the youngsters. Dez was a professional swimmer in Germany from the age of 8 -21 years old, (swimming for the german national Team ), and knows all too well how pressure in a competition works.
